Pre-conference, Doctoral Colloquium, and Welcome Reception

ICORIA 2025 will start with a pre-conference in the morning and the doctoral colloquium in the afternoon.
The welcome reception will be at the Perenhof (Garden of Pears) at the Trompenburg Gardens & Arboretum

Friday 27th June

Conference Day 1 and Gala Dinner

The conference takes place at Erasmus University Rotterdam (Campus Woudestein; Burgemeester Oudlaan 50, 3062 PA Rotterdam).
The Gala Dinner will be held at Hal4 aan de Maas which is located right next to the Maas.

Saturday 28^th June

Conference Day 2 and City Tour

Join us for a sightseeing tour and experience Rotterdam like the locals do! A local city guide will tell you personal stories, interesting facts and figures, hotspots & must-sees in Rotterdam.

Instructions for presenters

Presenters are asked to arrive to their session room in advance of the session to check in with the session chair and to ensure that audiovisual materials are working correctly. A PC will be set up in each room for the paper presentations. Please have your PowerPoint presentation on a USB key.

Each presentation slot is 20 minutes long. Therefore, each presentation should take a maximum of 15 minutes (aim for 10 – 13 minutes), to allow time for questions and answers. Be aware of time cues from the session chairs. Session chairs are instructed to stop presentations that exceed the limit to ensure schedule adherence. After each presentation, the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions (+- 5 minutes). If more questions arise than time allows, you are encouraged to continue the conversation after the session concludes.

Instructions for session chairs 

As a session chair you play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of each session. Please arrive at your assigned room in advance of the session. Introduce yourself to the presenters, confirm pronunciation of their names and verify the order of presentations and titles. Ensure that all presentation files are ready on the PC in the session room. Ask for assistance of the volunteer in the room if necessary.

Each presentation slot is 20 minutes. Therefore, each presentation is maximum 15 minutes long. As chair, it is your responsibility to manage time strictly. Signal to the speaker when they have reached 12 minutes, and if they approach or exceed 13 minutes, politely ask them to conclude to allow time for questions. After each talk, invite questions from the audience and moderate a short Q&A (+-5 minutes). If there are no immediate questions, consider asking one yourself to prompt discussion.

Venue

Erasmus University Rotterdam (Campus Woudestein) will host ICORIA 2025. This modern campus lies just outside the city centre making it an excellent hub for our conference.

In case you are flying to Schiphol Airport, the best way to get to Rotterdam is by taking a train to Rotterdam Centraal. The NS Intercity direct takes 26 minutes with an additional fee of 2.5; the NS intercity takes 53 minutes. The distance from Rotterdam Central Station (city centre) to the university is approximately

• 10 min by car/taxi
• 16 min by bike
• 30 min by public transport
