ICORIA Doctoral Colloquium 2025

The aim of the ICORIA Doctoral Colloquium is to provide PhD students with professional skills needed for their academic career. The colloquium gives PhD students the opportunity to learn from the insights and experiences of senior scholars in their field of study. Furthermore, PhD students will meet peers from different countries and start (or continue) building an international network that will be valuable throughout their academic career.
In 2025 the colloquium will cover strategies for research collaborations as well as insider tips and career advice from leading advertising researchers. Participants at the colloquium may also be invited to chair sessions in the main conference. The Preliminary Program follows:

13:30-14:00: Introduction to the Doctoral Colloquium ICORIA 2025
14:00-14:45: How to Use AI in Research: Dos and Don’ts – Insights from the Editor of the Journal of Interactive Advertising (Kim Jooyoung)
14:45-15:30: How to Navigate Your Ph.D. Journey with Purpose: A Values-Based Approach to Time Management (Sigal Segev)
15:30-15:45: Coffee break
15:45-16:30: Chairing a Conference Session (Christina Boutsouki)
The sessions will conclude with the ICORIA welcome reception late afternoon. Participants are encouraged also to participate in the Pre-Conference on Where Good Papers Begin: Expert Tips on Generating and Refining Research Ideas.
The colloquium is open to PhD students participating in ICORIA 2024 on June 26-June 28. To participate in the ICORIA 2024 Doctoral Colloquium please send a one-page application in which you describe your dissertation project and briefly motivate why the doctoral colloquium would be important for you in developing your research career.
Please send your application by e-mail to Anastasios Panopoulos (apanopoulos@uom.edu.gr): and no later than May 12, 2025. Applicants will be notified about acceptance no later than May 19, 2025. The number of participants is limited, and the selection will be based on the between research interests and ICORIA as well as motivations.
