Pre-conference Workshop:
Avoiding Deadly Sins in Journal Submissions: Advice from Editors and Leading Experts
The Journal of Advertising Research, the International Journal of Advertising, and the Journal of Advertising are pleased to co-host with ICORIA a special pre-conference workshop titled “Avoiding Deadly Sins in Journal Submissions: Advice from Editors and Leading Experts” the morning of Thursday June 27, 2024.
The focus of the workshop is to help researchers avoid common mistakes and pitfalls that might reduce the success of their projects. Topics and speakers will include:
- Choosing a topic to research and writing a compelling intro (Charles (Ray) Taylor)
- Writing a strong theory section (Nathalie Dens)
- Survey and experiment design (Jooyoung Kim)
- Stimuli design (Patrick De Pelsmacker)
- Measurement and data collection issues (Tobias Langer)
- Construct definitions and operationalizations (Lars Bergkvist)
- Reporting statistical testing results (Martin Eisend)
- Writing implications for theory and practice (Colin Campbell)
- Writing the limitations and future research sections (Sigal Segev)
- Selecting the right journal (Liselot Hudders)
- Ethics in research and publication (Jisu Huh)
The workshop is free and open to all advertising researchers, although doctoral students and junior scholars are especially encouraged to attend.
