Crafting Industry Relevant Research – a Writer’s Workshop by JAR, IJA, and JA
The Journal of Advertising Research, International Journal of Advertising, and Journal of Advertising are excited to partner together and with ICORIA to host a first-ever Writer’s Workshop on Crafting Industry Relevant Research during the afternoon of June 29th, 2023.
The workshop’s focus is on helping authors develop research that is more relevant to advertising practice. Editors and AE’s from the three hosting journals will be present during the workshop to share advice and tips.
Panels and presentations will offer advice on finding and working with industry partners, identifying topics industry cares about, designing more ecologically-valid studies, and developing stronger managerial implications sections in papers. Breakout sessions will also be held where authors will share early-stage ideas and receive feedback and suggestions.
Scholars are welcome to simply attend the workshop, or to attend and present an early-stage idea during a breakout session.
The workshop is free and open to all advertising researchers (except doctoral students, who are encouraged to instead attend ICORIA’s Doctoral Colloquium). While participants in the workshop are not required to register for ICORIA, preference will be given to those who are also attending ICORIA.
