Travel information – getting to Krems

The best transportation method from the Vienna airport to the city of Krems is via train. A highspeed “Railjet” train departs every hour from Vienna Airport to the city of St. Pölten, where you can then take a regional express connection to Krems. An alternative is to take the City-Airport Train (CAT) or the S7 Train from Vienna Airport to Vienna City centre and then take the Regional Express train from Vienna Franz-Josefs Bahnhof to Krems.

By Train

Krems has a connection to Vienna every half hour either directly or via St. Pölten. For international passengers the fastest connection is to take a train to St. Pölten where all High speed international Trains stop and transfer to the local to Krems.

By car

Krems is connected by the motorway S33 (from St. Pölten) and S5 (from Vienna). For parking you can either use street side parking or one of the covered parking lots.

Transportation in Krems and the region

Nearly all larger hotels in the city of Krems are within walking distance of the conference venue. Within Krems you can use the “Stadtbus” or any regional bus. The stops “Universität”, “Karl-Eybel-Gasse”, and “Seniorenheim” are located close to the venue. Another alternative is bike sharing (www.nextbike.com).
